Removing That Unwanted Tattoo

Tattoos have long been thought of as an impulsive act. This is because many times a person goes out and randomly gets one because of how they are feeling at that particular moment without thinking of the consequences. This is where tattoo regret comes along later on. The good news is, there are ways to remove that unwanted tattoo.

The most popular method is known as laser tattoo removal. This is where the person will go through multiple treatments to break down the tattoo pigments and eventually dissolve the tattoo altogether. This method can be effective, however, it can also be painful and expensive depending on the size of the tattoo.

Another removal option would be dermabrasion and salabrasion. This process involves the tattoo being sanded. Think of a table being sanded down in preparation of staining. It is not a very pleasant procedure to go through as you are basically having your skin “sanded” off.

Cryosurgery is yet another option available. This is where the tattooed skin is frozen and the tattoo is removed that way.

An excision procedure was an option before more advanced techniques were available. This is where a surgeon would actually use a scalpel and cut out the tattoo from the skin. This procedure can be quite painful and usually comes with scarring. This is where you decide if you would prefer the scar or the tattoo.

Another popular method is through the use of fade creams. This is where people repeatedly apply the fade cream to their tattoo which eventually begins to break down the ink until you can no longer see the tattoo. This is a much less painful method which is why most try this first.

The best tattoo removal process is to be absolutely certain you want one in the first place. Unfortunately, this is not always the case and that is why there are some very effective removal methods out there today.
