Weight Loss Tips for Teenage Girls

A teacher friend of mine stopped by my home recently after interviewing for one of the available primary teaching jobs in the county recent, and she expressed her concern about her teenaged daughter’s battle to lose weight. I gave her the following advice.
Obesity is troublesome. Not only does it make you look older than your years, but also takes a heavy toll on your confidence. But, it is never too late to lose a few kilos. Just follow the tips below can you can see the extra pounds melting away.
Water – Water actually helps in reducing weight. It helps in purging your body of toxins and proper liver functioning. It also acts as an appetite suppressant. You must drink at least 3 litres of water every day. Furthermore, you should drink a glassful of water 15 minutes before every meal.
Balanced Diet – A balanced diet should contain the requisite proportions of minerals, vitamins, proteins, carbohydrates etc. Fruits are a rich source of roughage that helps in proper bowel movement. Vegetables and fruits should form a major (two-third) part of a teenage girl’s diet as have all the essential nutrients required by the body and very low calorie content.
Exercise – Dietary changes have to be complemented by regular exercise. You can go for running, swimming, dancing, aerobatics, cardiovascular exercises etc.
Foods to Give Up – You must avoid high sugar foods like ice-creams and pastries, fast foods, aerated drinks, fried foods and high caffeine foods.
You must not skip your breakfast. You are also advised to have dinner two or three hours before you go off to sleep.
